Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 7:34

Muhammad ibn Bahr al-Basri narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id ibn 'Amr ibn Sa'id ibn al-'As narrated to me, my father narrated to me, he said: I heard Sa'd ibn Ibrahim narrating from his father, from his grandfather 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Quraysh, the Ansar, Juhaynah, Muzaynah, Aslam, Ghifar, Ashja', and Sulaym are my allies (awliya'). They have no ally besides Allah and His Messenger." 'Amr ibn Yahya said: I met Ishaq ibn Sa'd in the mosque and said to him: "My father narrated to me from your father," and I narrated the hadith to him. He said: "They are only seven; I do not know which one was omitted." 'Amr said: My father mentioned from someone else that the one who was omitted from them was Sulaym.
