Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 7:4

Zuhayr narrated to us, Bishr ibn Umar al-Zahrani narrated to us, Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, from Malik ibn Aws ibn al-Hadathan, that Umar ibn al-Khattab asked a group, and among them was Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf: "I adjure you by Allah, by whose permission the heavens and the earth stand, do you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'We are not inherited from; what we leave is charity'?" They said: "Yes."
