Abu Talib Abd al-Jabbar ibn Asim narrated to us, Ubayd Allah ibn Amr al-Raqqi narrated to us, from Abd al-Karim al-Jazari, from Abu Wasil, from Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) cursed the one who performs *tahlil* (the one who marries a divorced woman to make her lawful for her previous husband) and the one for whom it is performed.
