Hadith 151:91

Abu Kurayb narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Asim, from Zirr, from Abdullah, who said: Two men disputed over a surah. One said, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me to recite it," and the other said, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me to recite it." They came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and informed him of that. He said—and his face changed—"Recite as you have been taught." He mentioned some words regarding that, then said, "For those who were before you were only destroyed by their differing over their prophets." He said: Then each man among us stood up, and he did not recite according to the recitation of his companion.
