Hadith 151:92
Abu Kurayb narrated to us, Husayn ibn Ali al-Ju'fi narrated to us, from Za'idah, 'Asim ibn Abi al-Najud narrated to us, from Zirr, from Abdullah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by while Abu Bakr and Umar were with him, and Abdullah was praying. He began [reciting] Surah al-Nisa and completed it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever wishes to recite the Quran fresh as it was revealed, let him recite according to the recitation of Ibn Umm 'Abd." Then he sat and supplicated. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) began to say: "Ask, and it shall be given to you." He said regarding what he was asking for: "O Allah, I ask You for faith that does not turn back, and bliss that does not run out, and the companionship of our Prophet (ﷺ) in the highest eternal Paradise." Then Umar went to give him the good news of it, but he found Abu Bakr coming out, having preceded him. He said: "If you have done so, you are indeed a forerunner in good."
