Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 153:149

Mansur ibn Abi Muzahim narrated to us, Abu Uways narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, that Salim ibn Abdullah narrated to him that he heard a man from the people of Syria asking Abdullah ibn Umar about the one who performs *Tamattu* (combining) of the Umrah with the Hajj. Abdullah said, "It is permissible." The Syrian said, "But your father forbade it." Abdullah said, "What do you think if my father forbade it, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed it? Should the command of my father be followed, or the command of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?" The Syrian said, "Rather, the command of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)." He said, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) indeed performed it."
