Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 153:15

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Ibn 'Uyayna narrated to us, he said: We heard al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, attributing it to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said: "Kill the snakes, and the *dhu al-tufyatayn* (the one with two white lines on its back) and the *abtar* (the one with a short or cut tail), for they both extinguish the sight and cause the miscarriage of the fetus." He said: And 'Abd Allah used to kill every snake he found.
