Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 153:48

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Musa ibn Uqbah narrated to us, he said: Salim narrated to me, from his father, that he used to narrate about the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) when he appointed Usama ibn Zayd. It reached him that the people criticized Usama and found fault with his leadership. So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) stood up, as Salim narrated to me, and said: "Behold, you criticize Usama and find fault with his leadership, and you had done that to his father before. And he was indeed worthy of leadership, and he was the most beloved of people to me, all of them. And this son of his is indeed the most beloved of people to me, so treat him well, for he is among the best of you." Salim said: I never heard Abdullah narrate this hadith ever, except that he would say, "Except for Fatima."
