Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 56:1

Ali ibn al-Ja'd, Hudbah ibn Khalid, 'Abd al-A'la al-Narsi, Hawtharah ibn Ashras, and Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Abu al-'Ushara', from his father, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is the slaughtering (dhabihah) only valid if it is from the throat or the base of the neck?" He said, "If you were to pierce its thigh, it would suffice for you."
