Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 124:2

Harun ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Ibn Abi Fudayk narrated to us, from Isa al-Hannat, from Abu al-Zinad, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Envy consumes good deeds just as fire consumes firewood. Charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire. Prayer is the light of the believer, and fasting is a shield from the Fire."
