Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 1:53

Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, al-Kalbi narrated to us, from Salamah ibn al-Sa’ib, from Abu Rafi’, who said: I went out with two anklets to sell them, and our family had become in need of provisions. I saw Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, and he said, "Where are you heading?" I said, "Our family is in need of provisions, so I intended to sell these two anklets." He said, "And I have also gone out with some small dirhams, intending to buy silver better than them." He said: So he placed the two anklets on one side of the scale and placed the dirhams on the other side, and the two anklets outweighed the dirhams slightly. He then called for a pair of shears. I said, "Subhan Allah! It is yours, it is yours!" He said, "If you leave it, Allah will not leave it. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Gold for gold, like for like; and silver for silver, like for like. The one who gives more and the one who takes more are in the Fire.'"
