Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 1:72

Ahmad ibn Umar al-Waki'i narrated to us, Husayn ibn Ali al-Ju'fi narrated to us, from Za'idah, from Asim, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: Abu Bakr stood upon the pulpit and said: "You have known what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stood for last year." Then he wept. Then he repeated it, then he wept. Then he repeated it, then he wept. He said: "Indeed, the people have not been given anything in this world better than pardon and well-being, so ask Allah for them both."
