Shayban ibn Farrukh narrated to us, Suwayd—meaning Abu Hatim—narrated to us, he said: A companion of mine narrated to me, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): That when he would pray over the deceased, he would say: "O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our young and our old, and our male and our female. Whoever among us You keep alive, then keep him alive upon Islam, and whoever among us You cause to die, then cause him to die upon faith."
