Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 155:199

Muslim ibn Abi Muslim al-Jarmi narrated to us, Makhlad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Hassan, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Ibrahim did not lie except for three lies, all of which were for the sake of Allah: his saying, 'Indeed, I am ill' (As-Saffat: 89), and his saying, 'Rather, this, the largest of them, did it' (Al-Anbiya: 63)." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Ibrahim (peace be upon him) went out traveling in the land of a tyrant among the tyrants, and with him was Sarah, and she was among the most beautiful of women. It reached that tyrant that in your territory is a man with a woman, the likes of whose beauty the beholders have never seen. So he sent for him, and he came to him. He asked him about the woman, 'Who is the woman who is with you?' He said, 'My sister.' He said, 'Send her to me.' So he sent a messenger with her to her, and he said, 'This tyrant asked me about you, and I informed him that you are my sister, and you are my sister in Islam. He asked me to send you to him, so go to him, for Allah will protect you from him.' She went to him with his messenger. When she was brought in to him, he lunged toward her, but he was seized. He said to her, 'Call upon your God whom you worship to release me, and I will not return to what you dislike.' She called upon Allah, and He released him. He did that three times. Then he said to the one who brought her, 'Take her away from me, for you have not brought me a human; you have only brought me a devil.' And he gave Hajar to her as a servant. She returned to Ibrahim, and he asked him to give her to him, so she gave her to him." Muhammad [ibn Sirin] said: "She is your mother, O sons of the water of the sky," meaning the Arabs.
