Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 155:20

Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Dawraqi narrated to us, Mubashir narrated to us, from al-Awza’i, from al-Zuhri, from Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib, Abu Salamah, and Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn Utbah ibn Mas’ud, from Abu Hurayrah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the taslim after two rak’ahs. Dhu al-Shimalayn ibn ‘Abd ‘Amr ibn Nadlah—who was a man from Khuza’ah, an ally of Banu Zuhrah—said to him, "Has the prayer been shortened, or have you forgotten, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "It has not been shortened, nor have I forgotten." Dhu al-Shimalayn said, "Some of that has indeed happened, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned to those who had prayed with him and said, "Is Dhu al-Yadayn telling the truth?" They said, "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and completed the prayer, and he did not perform the two prostrations that are performed during the forgetfulness of the prayer when the people prompted him.
