Hadith 155:302
Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Mubashir narrated to us, from al-Awza’i, who said: al-Zuhri narrated to me, who said: Thabit al-Zuraqi narrated to me that Abu Hurayrah said: A wind seized the people on the road to Makkah while Umar was on pilgrimage, and it became intense for them. He said to those around him, "What is this wind?" But they did not return anything to him. The matter that Umar asked about reached me, so I urged my mount until I caught up with him. I said, "O Commander of the Faithful, we were informed that you asked about the wind, and I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'The wind is from the spirit (rawh) of Allah; it brings mercy and it brings punishment. So do not revile it, and ask Allah for its good, and seek refuge in Him from its evil.'"
