Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 155:312

Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abda narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: A woman was punished because of a cat. She tied it up and did not let it eat from the vermin of the earth until it died.
