Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 9:13

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, that he heard Abu Juhayfah narrating that he saw the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, perform ablution at midday. The people began taking from the remainder of his ablution water. Then he prayed the Dhuhr prayer as two rak'ahs and the 'Asr prayer as two rak'ahs, with an 'anzah (a short spear) placed in front of him.
