Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 79:4

Al-Hasan ibn Hammad al-Kufi narrated to us, Mushir ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Sila narrated to us, my father informed me, he said: I said to Abd Khayr, "How many years have passed upon you?" He said, "One hundred and twenty years." I said, "Do you remember anything from the affair of the Jahiliyyah?" He said, "Yes, we were in the land of Yemen, and the letter of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to us, calling the people to a vast good. My father was among those who went out, and I was a young boy. When my father returned, he said to my mother, 'Order this pot to be poured out for the dogs, for we have indeed submitted (to Islam), so you submit (to Islam).'"
