Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 126:1

Wahb ibn Baqiyyah al-Wasiti narrated to us, Khalid informed us, from Abu Maslamah, from Abu Nadrah, from Anas, who said: Umm Sulaym sent me with fresh dates to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) on a tray, at the very beginning of when the palm fruit ripens. He said: So I entered upon him and placed it before him, and he ate from it. Then he took my hand and we went out. It was shortly after his wedding to Zaynab bint Jahsh. He said: He passed by some of his wives, and with them were men talking. He said: They congratulated him, and the people congratulated him, saying: "Praise be to Allah who has gladdened your eyes, O Messenger of Allah." He continued until he came to Aisha, and there were men with her. He said: He disliked that, and whenever he disliked something, it was known on his face. He said: So I went to Umm Sulaym and informed her. Abu Talhah said: "If it is as your son says, something will surely happen." He said: When it was evening, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out and ascended the pulpit and recited this verse: "O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal." He said: So he commanded the veil.
