Hadith 126:13
Mansur ibn Abi Muzahim narrated to us, Khalid al-Zayyat narrated to me, Dawud ibn Sulayman narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Mu'ammar ibn Hazm al-Ansari, from Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who raised the hadith, he said: "The newborn, until he reaches the age of puberty (al-hinth), whatever good deed he performs is written for his father or for his parents, and whatever evil deed he performs is not written against him nor against his parents. So when he reaches the age of puberty, the pen runs upon him, and the two angels who are with him are commanded to preserve and to be strict. When he reaches forty years in Islam, Allah secures him from the three afflictions: madness, leprosy, and vitiligo. When he reaches fifty, Allah lightens his reckoning. When he reaches sixty, Allah grants him the provision of turning to Him in the way He loves. When he reaches seventy, the inhabitants of the heaven love him. When he reaches eighty, Allah writes down his good deeds and overlooks his evil deeds. When he reaches ninety, Allah forgives him what preceded of his sins and what followed, and He makes him an intercessor for his household, and he becomes the prisoner of Allah upon His earth. When he reaches the most abject age (old age) so that he does not know anything after having had knowledge, Allah writes for him the like of what he used to perform of good during his health, and if he performs an evil deed, it is not written against him."
