Ishaq ibn Abi Isra'il narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, [who said] Darraj narrated to us, from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever humbles himself one degree for the sake of Allah, Allah raises him one degree, until He places him in 'Illiyyin. And whoever acts arrogantly one degree against Allah, Allah lowers him one degree, until He places him in the lowest of the low."
