Ishaq narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Raqabah, from Ja'far ibn Iyas, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Mas'ud, from Abu Sa'id and Abu Hurayrah, who both said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A time will surely come upon the people when there will be foolish leaders over you. They will bring forward the worst of the people and show favor to their best, and they will delay the prayer from its appointed times. So whoever among you reaches that time, let him not be a leader (arif), nor a policeman (shurti), nor a tax collector (jabi), nor a treasurer (khazin)."
