Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 42:182

From the Musnad of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA)

Hadith 42:182

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Safwan bin Isa narrated to us, he said: Anis bin Abi Yahya informed us, from his father, from Abu Sa’id, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came out to us during his illness in which he died, while his head was bandaged. I followed him until he stood upon the pulpit. He said: "I am, at this moment, standing at the Basin (al-Hawd)." Then he said: "Indeed, a servant was offered the world and its adornments, so he chose the Hereafter." He said: No one among the people understood it except Abu Bakr. He said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you; rather, we sacrifice our wealth, our souls, and our children for you." Then he descended from the pulpit, and he was not seen upon it until this hour.
