Zuhayr narrated to us, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Utbah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) about *al-'azl* (coitus interruptus). He said: "Do you do that? It does not matter if you do not do that. It does not matter if you do not do that, for there is no soul that Allah has decreed to exist but it will exist."
