Hadith 42:370

Zuhayr narrated to us, Abdullah bin Maslamah bin Qa‘nab narrated to us, Dawud bin Qays al-Farra’ narrated to us, from ‘Iyad bin ‘Abdullah, from Abu Sa‘id, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to go out on the day of the ‘Eid, the day of al-Fitr, and he would pray those two rak‘ahs with the people. Then he would deliver the taslim and stand, facing the people while they were sitting. He would say, "Give charity, give charity," three times. Those who gave the most charity were the women, with their earrings, rings, and things. If the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) had a need, or was sending an expedition to the people, he would mention it to them; otherwise, he would depart.
