Zuhayr narrated to us, Isma'il narrated to us, Abu Salamah Sa'id ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "As for the people of the Fire who are its inhabitants, they will neither die therein nor live. But there are people—or as he said—whom their sins—or he said their faults—will afflict, so it will cause them to die a death. Until, when they have become charcoal, permission will be granted for intercession. They will be brought in groups, and they will be scattered upon the rivers of Paradise. Then it will be said: 'O people of Paradise, pour upon them.' So they will sprout as a seed sprouts in the silt of a flood." A man from the people said at that time: "It is as if the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) had been in the desert."
