Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 42:77

Ahmad narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim bin Sa'd narrated to us, Ibn Shihab informed us, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was asked about *al-'azl* (coitus interruptus). He said: "Do you do that? It does not matter if you do not do it. There is no soul that Allah has decreed to exist except that it will exist." He said: Umar and Ibn Umar used to dislike *al-'azl*, while Zayd and Ibn Mas'ud used to practice *al-'azl*.
