Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 128:19

Yahya ibn Ayyub narrated to us, Ismail narrated to us, Amr ibn Abi Amr, the freed slave of al-Muttalib ibn Abdullah ibn Hantab, informed me that he heard Anas ibn Malik saying: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Abu Talha, "Seek for us a boy from among your boys to serve me." He said: So Abu Talha went out with me, having me ride behind him, and I used to serve the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Whenever he would stop, I would hear him frequently saying, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and the subjugation of men." I continued to serve him until we returned from Khaybar, and he returned with Safiyyah bint Huyayy, whom he had acquired. I saw him wrapping her behind him with a cloak or a garment, then he would have her ride behind him. When we were at al-Sahba, he prepared *hais* (a dish of dates, ghee, and dried yogurt) on a leather mat, then he sent me, and I invited some men, and they ate. That was his wedding feast with her. Then he proceeded until, when Uhud appeared to him, he said, "This is a mountain that loves us and we love it." When he came in sight of Medina, he said, "O Allah, I declare sacred what is between its two mountains, just as Ibrahim declared Mecca sacred. O Allah, bless them in their *mudd* and their *sa’*."
