Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 45:13

Narrated to us Muhammad ibn 'Abbad al-Makki, narrated to us Hatim, from Mu'awiyah—meaning ibn Abi Muzarrid—from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah al-Ansari, from his father 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah, from Abu Talhah, who said: I entered the mosque and I recognized hunger in the face of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). So I went out until I came to Umm Sulaym—and she is the mother of Anas ibn Malik, who was married to Malik, the father of Anas ibn Malik—and I said, "O Umm Sulaym, I have recognized hunger in the face of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so do you have anything?" She said, "I have something," and she gestured with her palm. I said to her, "Prepare it and make it good." She sent Anas to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and I said, "Whisper in his ear and invite him." When Anas approached, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "This is a man who has come with goodness." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "Did your father send you to invite us, my son?" He said, "Yes." Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to his companions, "Go, in the name of Allah." Anas turned back, running until he came to Abu Talhah and said, "This is the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) who has come to you with the people." I went out until I met the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) at the door, at the landing of the stairs, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what have you done to us? I only recognized hunger in your face, so we prepared something for you to eat." He said, "Enter and rejoice." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) took it and gathered it in the dish with his hand, then he set it right and said, "Is there any..."—as if he meant the condiment (al-adam). They brought him their skin bag which had something in it, or perhaps it had nothing in it. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) did something with his hand, then poured the ghee from it. Then he said, "Let ten enter upon me at a time." They all ate and were satisfied. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said regarding the remainder that was left over, "Eat, you and your family." So they ate and were satisfied.
