Hadith 45:19
Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from Sa’id ibn Yasar, from Abu Talhah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, the angels do not enter a house in which there are images, nor a dog." Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani said to Abu Talhah: "Come with us to ‘Aishah so we may ask her about this." So they both came to ‘Aishah and asked her. She said: "As for this, I do not memorize it from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). However, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was on a military expedition of his, so I waited for his return and covered the throne of the house with a patterned cloth. When he entered, I met him and took his hand and said: 'Praise be to Allah who granted you victory, honored you, and ennobled you.' He looked at it, and I saw dislike on his face." And he mentioned the rest of the hadith in full.
