Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 49:1

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Sinan ibn Abi Sinan, from Abu Waqid al-Laythi: That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), when he came to Khaybar, passed by a tree upon which the polytheists would hang their weapons, which was called "Dhat Anwat." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, make for us a 'Dhat Anwat' just as they have a 'Dhat Anwat'." He said, "Allah is the Greatest! This is as the people of Musa said to Musa: 'Make for us a god just as they have gods.' You will surely follow the ways of those who were before you."
