Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 149:139

Ibrahim narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from Urwah, from Aisha, that Abu Bakr said to Aisha, "On which day did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, die?" She said, "On Monday." He said, "What day is today?" She said, "Monday." He said, "Whatever Allah wills. I hope for [it to be] between me and the night." He said to them, "In what did you shroud him?" She said, "In three white Sahuli Yemeni garments; there was no shirt in them, nor a turban." Abu Bakr said, "Wash this garment of mine, which has a trace of saffron or red clay on it," and [he had] two other garments with it. Aisha said, "O my father, this is worn out." He said, "The living is more deserving of the new [garment]." He said, "It is only for the pus/decay." Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr had given them a Hibra cloak, and the Messenger of Allah was wrapped in it, then taken out of it, and shrouded in three white Sahuli Yemeni garments. Abdullah found the cloak and said, "I will surely shroud myself in something that touched the skin of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." Then he said after that, "No, by Allah, I will not shroud myself in something that Allah prevented His Messenger from being shrouded in." Abu Bakr died on the night of Tuesday, and he was buried at night.
