Abu al-Rabi' narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us, from his father, from Aisha, that it was mentioned in her presence the statement of Ibn Umar regarding what is relied upon. She said: "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abd al-Rahman. He heard the hadith but did not memorize it correctly. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) only said—as a funeral of a Jew passed by him and his family were weeping over him—'They are weeping, and he is being punished.'"
