Hadith 149:46
Surayj narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Hisham bin 'Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from 'Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was shrouded in three white Sahuli cotton garments, in which there was neither a shirt nor a turban. As for the Hullah (a two-piece garment), it was only a confusion for the people regarding it, as it was bought for him to be shrouded in. Then the Hullah was left, and 'Abdullah bin Abi Bakr took it. He said: "I will keep it to be shrouded in." Then he said: "If Allah had been pleased with it for His Messenger, he would have been shrouded in it." So he sold it and gave its price in charity.
