Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 149:7

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Malik, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, that 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq informed 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, from 'A'ishah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Have you not seen your people, when they built the Ka'bah, they fell short of the foundations of Ibrahim?" She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will you not restore it to the foundations of Ibrahim?" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Were it not for the recentness of your people's disbelief..." 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar said: "If 'A'ishah heard this from the Messenger of Allah, I do not see the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) leaving the touching of the two corners that are adjacent to the Hijr except because the House was not completed upon the foundations of Ibrahim."
