Hadith 149:74

And with his chain of narration from ‘Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he wanted to perform ghusl (ritual bath) from janabah (major ritual impurity), he would pour over his hands and wash them. Then he would perform wudu (ablution) like his wudu for prayer. Then he would place his hands into the vessel, placing them, then he would take them out and insert them into his hair, following the roots of the hair until, when he had moistened the skin of his hair and it seemed to him that he had cleansed it, he would pour over his head three handfuls of water. Then he would pour what remained over his body. And ‘Urwah said, before that: When he washes his palms, he should wash his private parts, then perform his wudu like his wudu for prayer.
