Hadith 149:95
Al-Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi narrated to us, Wahib narrated to us, Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from Aisha, who said: I entered upon Abu Bakr while I saw death upon him, so I said: "The agitation, the agitation of one whose tear is still veiled, for it is poured out at times." He said to her: "Do not say that, but say: 'And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were avoiding' [Qaf: 19]." Then he said: "On which day did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, die?" I said: "Monday." He said: "I hope [it will be] between me and the night." He did not die until the evening of Tuesday, and he was buried before it became morning. She said: He had said before that: "In how many [garments] was the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, shrouded?" I said: "In three white Sahuli garments; there was no shirt in them and no turban." He looked at a garment he was ill in, which had a stain of saffron or red clay on it, and said: "Wash this garment of mine, and add two garments to it, and shroud me in them." She said: I said: "This is worn out." He said: "The living is more deserving of the new than the dead; it is only for the pus."
