Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 159:107

Yahya ibn Ayyub narrated to us, Ismail narrated to us, Amr informed me, from Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, a vow does not bring near to the son of Adam anything that Allah had not decreed for him. However, the vow coincides with the decree, and through it, there is extracted from the miser that which the miser did not intend to extract."
