Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 159:48

Muhammad ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, Abu Sa'id narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Sulayman, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "If you hear the braying of a donkey, the barking of a dog, and the crowing of a rooster at night, then seek refuge in Allah from the Shaytan, for they see what you do not see."
