Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 159:83

And with his chain of narration, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever leads the people in prayer, let him lighten it, for among them are the sick, the weak, and those with needs. And if one of you prays alone, let him lengthen it as he wishes."
