Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 106:55

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Mansur narrated to us, from Abu Raja’ al-Khurasani, Abdullah ibn Waqid, from Muhammad ibn Malik, who said: I saw a gold ring on al-Bara’. It was said to him, "What is this?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) divided [some things], and this ring remained. He said, "Whom do you see as most deserving of this?" Then he said, "Come near, O Bara’." He put it on my finger and said, "Wear what Allah and His Messenger have clothed you with."
