Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 162:2

Zakariya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Ishaq, narrated to us Sulayman ibn Yasar, from Abdullah ibn Abbas, from al-Fadl ibn Abbas, that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah, my father was reached by Islam while he was a very old man. If I fasten him onto the mount, I fear he will die, and if I do not fasten him, he will not remain steady. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Do you see, if your father had a debt and you paid it off, would it suffice him?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then perform Hajj on behalf of your father."
