Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 164:12

Sufyan ibn Waki' narrated to us, Jami' ibn 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-'Ijli narrated to us, from Mujahid (or Mujalid), from Tahrub al-'Ijli, from al-Hasan ibn 'Ali, who said: "I will not fight after a vision I saw. I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placing his hand upon the Throne, and I saw Abu Bakr placing his hand upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I saw 'Umar placing his hand upon Abu Bakr, and I saw 'Uthman placing his hand upon 'Umar. And I saw blood beneath them. I said: 'What is this blood?' It was said: 'The blood of 'Uthman, for which Allah will seek retribution.'"
