Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 164:6

Musa ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Abd al-Malik ibn Amr narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Burayd ibn Abi Maryam, who said: I heard Abu al-Hawra' al-Sa'di say: I asked al-Hasan ibn Ali, "Did you hear [anything] from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "I found a date from the dates of charity and I threw it into my mouth. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, took it from my mouth with his saliva and threw it back into the dates. It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you take it?' He said, 'Because charity is not lawful for the family of Muhammad.'" And he used to say: "Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt, for truthfulness is tranquility and lying is doubt." He said: "And he used to teach us this supplication: 'O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, grant me well-being among those whom You have granted well-being, take me into Your care among those whom You have taken into Your care, bless me in what You have given, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. For indeed, You decree and none can decree against You, and indeed, he whom You befriend is not humiliated. Blessed are You and Exalted.'"
