Hadith 165:6
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sallam al-Jumahi narrated to us, Hisham ibn Ziyad narrated to us, from his mother, from Fatimah bint al-Husayn, that she heard her father, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying: "There is no Muslim man or Muslim woman who is afflicted by a calamity—even if its time has long passed—and then says the *istirja'* (i.e., 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un') for it, except that Allah will renew for him at that moment [the reward] and grant him the reward of what He promised him for it on the day he was afflicted by it."
