Al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful from Anas (RA)
Hadith 131:20
Uthman narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful, who said: I asked Anas ibn Malik about drinks. He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade pitch-coated vessels, and he said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful." I said to him: You have spoken the truth, intoxication is unlawful; I only drink a drink or two after food. He said to me: "Whatever its large amount intoxicates, its small amount is unlawful." He said: Then wine was prohibited, and it is from grapes, dates, honey, wheat, barley, and maize. Whatever is fermented from that, it is wine.
