Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 138:11

Al-Hasan ibn Hammad narrated to us, Mushir ibn 'Abd al-Malik ibn Sil' (who is trustworthy) narrated to us, 'Isa ibn 'Umar narrated to us, from Isma'il al-Suddi, from Anas ibn Malik: That the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a bird with him. He said, "O Allah, bring me the most beloved of Your creation to eat this bird with me." Then Abu Bakr came, and he turned him away. Then 'Umar came, and he turned him away. Then 'Ali came, and he gave him permission.
