Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 118:30

Bishr ibn al-Walid al-Kindi narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Anas: That he saw upon the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) a silver ring for one day. So [the people] made silver rings and wore them. Then the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) cast away his ring, so the people cast away their rings. And he saw on the hand of a man a ring of gold, so he struck his finger a strike. And he saw upon Umm Salamah two gold earrings, so he turned away from her until she threw them away.
