Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 118:59

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, the nephew of al-Zuhri narrated to us, from his uncle, who said: Anas ibn Malik informed me that some people of the Ansar said on the day of Hunayn, when Allah bestowed upon His Messenger from the wealth of Hawazin what He bestowed, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) began giving men from Quraysh one hundred camels: "May Allah forgive the Messenger of Allah; he gives to Quraysh and leaves us, while our swords are still dripping with their blood." Anas said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was informed of their statement, so the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent for the Ansar and gathered them in a tent made of leather, and he did not invite anyone else with them. When they had gathered, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to them and said: "What is this talk that has reached me concerning you?" The learned ones among the Ansar said to him: "As for those of us with sound judgment, O Messenger of Allah, they said nothing. But some people among us who are young in age said: 'May Allah forgive the Messenger of Allah; he gives to Quraysh and leaves us, while our swords are still dripping with their blood.'" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, I give to men who are recent in their covenant with disbelief, to reconcile their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people go away with the wealth, while you return to your dwellings with the Messenger of Allah? By Allah, that which you return with is better than that which they return with." They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we are pleased." He said to them: "You will indeed find after me severe favoritism, so be patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger, for I will be at the Hawd (the Basin)." Anas said: They said: "Yes."
